The Emsworth Arts Trail – Same venue, different work

Sussex Brewery, 36 Main Rd, Hermitage, Emsworth, PO10 8AU

This year we are joined by Jules Roper, whose screen printing has attracted much admiration. Also as usual we co-host with Jez Partidge, fine furniture.

This year’s essay

Nature’s raw power and beauty: an attempt to represent it. Not pictures of things or places, my humble responses to great beauty all around us. Mixed media, watercolour, digital and large scale works.

Night Painting of Emsworth Harbour in watercolour

I have tried to use the paint in response to my snap shots around the area taken over this winter only. Examples are the misty early morning view across a frozen lane, or the brilliance of January sunshine fighting through branches of trees.

Smaller, more affordable pieces

I have created many small watercolours based on photos of my favourite landmark north of Chichester, Stoke Clump, which is visible for miles.
